I was out hiking and taking some photos of the fall leaves:
These leaves I shot and then wanted to bring out their golden tones. In Photoshop I made some changes to the hue and saturation. I then changed the blending mode to darker color. I also sharpened the image. Here is the original:
This post was written in response to Prompts for the Promptless at Queen Creative. The prompt this week was Kintsukuri which is a Japanese noun meaning “to repair with gold”; the art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer and understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken. However, the original idea came from Braith an’lithe, which is a beautiful blog as well.
So, what do you think of my golden leaves? Is it fall where you are? if so, how are the fall colors this year?
Cheers!
Who can resist a little extra Golden brightness . Lovely !

Here the Oaks are “live” and never lose their leaves. The maples do lose them, but they go from green to brown with no change to red or gold. Today was 90 degrees. So, not so much like Fall here. It is still nice enough to swim outside, so there are trade-offs! Thanks for the lovely post of gold 🙂

It must be a little weird to never have a real “fall”. I think I’d miss that, super freezing winter days I could do without though 🙂

Aw, thank you, I’m touched! I am finding it really hard trying to carve out time to catch up with all my blog reading and do a post (I have sneaked away from visitors for a moment….!) but I must read the Prompts for the Promptless as soon as I can.
The top photo is beautiful. Sometimes I don’t like things that have been Photoshopped, but in these examples I feel the top picture looks more like a real sunny autumn than the bottom one does – I love the angle of light and the colours at this time of year.

Hi there 🙂 you should look through the different responses when you have a moment, it was interesting to see all the different ways that people interpreted what you had originally written about. I’m glad you like my take 🙂 Cheers!

Lovely picture and editing. We are having an extra golden autumn, because the rains have held off nicely.
