It’s Spring time so it’s time for chickens:
Time for cute little faces like these:
I love taking photos like these. These particular chickens were hatched in a second grade classroom as part of a life cycles unit and were moved today to a farm. They grow quickly, but for now they are fluffy and have large feet.
The main challenge for taking photos like these is to catch the chickens at a moment when they are still. It means a lot of photos end up in the trash bin.
Cheers!
So adorable. Happy spring!

Hey Amy – the second photo reminded me of the way puppies have giant paws that they will grow into – and that chick has some large feet.
This is my third year enjoying your spring chicks and love the furry feel of these – 🙂

They are exactly like puppies in that way. Since we are moving, this will probably be my last Spring with chickens for awhile, that is a bit sad for me.

Oh I know how moves can be – and sorry for the sad part – why do adventures and fun international moves have to have the heart stuff of home too? Not fair – wink –
And there was a sign with the baby chicks at the store

“Baby chicks are not a cute Easter gift – they are real birds and they grow and carry disease”
Something like that!

Yeah, they are super loud and have to be taken care of, it’s not all cute stuff 🙂

here is the sign –
and sorry if I showed it to you in years past – I might have been wearing my yellow shirt having a mental block – lol

I don’t think you have shown me that, but it’s good that they put stuff like that up.

Well glad it is not a repeat – ha! And I guess some of these little girls were having Easter parties and giving out baby chicks

Ugh, and I thought goodie bags were a bad thing.

Two stunning photos of this chick. Beautiful hues it has got there, and it looks so fluffy too. Its feet does look large but I suppose they will help it grip on ledges and branches 🙂 Good work on persisting. These photos are very crisp 🙂

Yes, lots of shots of chickens running away. They can be quite quick.

Very cute. How many did you hatch in the classroom?
LikeLike
There were 29 eggs, 25 successful hatches, so that was a high hatch rate. It did also mean that they spent less time in the classroom and were transferred to the farm sooner, just a question of space.
