Yes, and very common here. They speak to a tension that exists, that between the love of people walking with their dogs and that of the welfare of the fields and pasture that these trails pass through. Fouling of crop fields is an obvious problem. Dogs that charge after sheep is also an issue as well as dogs fouling too close to cow pastures which can cause aborting in cows that are pregnant. It’s critical in certain places for dogs to be on a lead and owners should always clean up and carry out dog waste.
Well reading the comment above helped me understand why I just saw a post in a lark that had dog poop in it and it said to leave the waste there – makes more sense now!
