It wasn’t just that these flowers were so pretty:
It was that they were on the grounds of St. Paul’s Catacombs in Malta that made them a bit of a surprise. This photo was shot with my iPhone and has had very little editing.

For what little it is worth, oleander is what I thought of also. The leaves look right, and I saw oleanders long ago in Italy (and in displays of Mediterranean plants at The Cloisters in NYC). Yes, the pretty flowers sing w/o much editing. Nice shot!
