Thank you, and yes, I am enjoying it very much, the “vintage” style effects appeal to me very much.

Really like that bloom – the space between the petals and just a great choice of photo to have fun with a new toy

I always admire how you do not over-post photos – I still wrestle with pulling back in a post and not adding too many – and you consistently seem to give one or a few of the best – and I assume it must be hard with a lot of pics to choose from- is it?

*short answer* No, it’s not.
Ok, so I sort of had a chuckle when I read this. Tomorrow’s post has a gallery 🙂 In my defense, it’ll be trying something new. The answer to your question is both yes and no. Yes, it is hard to not want to post more, at least initially, like when I have just taken the shots. The longer I’ve had the images, the easier it is to look at them a bit more critically. In some ways, the answer is no though, it’s not really hard for me. I’m a pretty harsh critic of my own work, I take a lot of shots, many of which I don’t even seriously consider posting, but I feel like when I’m shooting, I’m free to experiment and it turns out a lot of those experiments don’t make for great photos. In defense of shooting that way though, I feel like I learn a lot, I really like that process. This blog I consider a later stage of that same process. By writing about specific photos, I’m really thinking through my technique and as a bonus getting a lot of feedback. I take all that and hopefully evolve my work for the better.
Even though your post topics are pretty varied, I feel like I would know it was a post of yours even without your name on it. Part of that is the many photos you tend to include. I feel like your posts, like mine, are part of a processing of what we are working on creatively. To me, it’s fascinating how different people create differently.

really enjoyed the comment (more than you know – because it feels so affirming to have someone say they can identify your work – but also to have someone understand the creative pursuits and changes in what we are “into” at times – so that brings a lot of comfort my way – thx)
also, it was nice to hear you expound – and I get it – also look forward to the gallery

I spent som time a while ago playing with Hipstamatic, tried all the lens and film combinations which came with it, some I really liked 😺 Some are here if you want to see. https://flickr.com/photos/44503745@N00/sets/72157682740311271

I went through and favorited my “Favorites” in that album. I also didn’t realize you were on Instagram so I followed you there. I also followed your wife’s account because she has some interesting looking photos too. So, was Hipstamatic just a passing phase for you or do you use it still?

Thanks for the follow, for Sue it’s all about the gardening and garden visiting first and foremost, the photos come second…but she does do amazing things in the garden for me to photograph!
I did hipstamatic very systematically, 3 images with each combination for several weeks…meant to find the ones I really liked and use them…then forgot! So thanks for reminding me 😂😂😂😂.

Yes, I could tell that Sue’s focus was more the garden and photography second. I find that accounts like that are sometimes really interesting to follow, where photography is not the first item. Nice of her to provide you with things to photograph 🙂
Yeah, I’m new to Hipstamatic, so I don’t really have a “method” down yet…
