It’s been a few weeks since I was able to focus on this particular photography project. My challenge for the past week was to get into the habit of just taking photos, using my phone as a sketch pad for ideas or things I just happened to see. It was a transition from the previous few weeks where I had been using the phone more to take photos of places I was visiting, creating a GPS version of photos I was taking with my larger camera as a reference should I ever need it. A bit of a leap, but worth the effort I think. My gallery for this week:
Welcome to this week’s installment of my daily photographic record.ย Posts in this series will be photos from the week before, roughly Friday through Friday. This, once a week, wrap-up post will publish on Sunday. The photos for this post will be in a gallery format, they will have all been taken on my phone. The captions on the photos will be an indication of the photo-editing software used to edit them, or simply “as shot” for those that are unedited.
Writing a weekly wrap up with a gallery is a way for me to gather my thoughts on what has caught my attention in the previous week. It will be a way of filtering through what I am thinking about photographically. I’ll also be able to come back to these posts and look at what trends emerge over time.
As with all my posts, your comments are welcome. I appreciate your interaction with my work here on this blog. It is my intention to publish in this series on Sunday. Every Sunday that is possible. Looking at my year, I already know there are some weeks where I will not be close enough to my technology to make a post possible. In an effort to keep this project pleasant for myself, I won’t be attempting catch-up posts.
Hope to see you in the comments below and in this space next week!
Cheers!
Great shots – I love that Hipstamatic filter (does it make you a latte as well?) – it gives a lovely effect.
There are a LOT of berries about at the moment aren’t there.

The berries near us are so close to being ready… I am very patiently waiting….

Lol – Lots of blackberry crumble and jam in your near future?
I’m so hip I still use an old Nokia ๐

I’ve not had good luck with the jam, but I do a crumble and also a bread, always excited to have fresh fruit!
I use to have a Nokia brick-style phone. When I go back to the US I intend to revert to that as an actual phone and just use my iPhone as a small camera. We will see how that goes and if I can really do without a smartphone.

I’ve not had a smartphone for about six weeks since my Samsumg packed up and I found this old Nokia in a drawer – so far I’ve not missed it… (much).

Yeah, we will see how tough I am when we get back to the US, I may just end up folding and going back to a smart phone.

lol! Wimp! To be honest, the only thing I do miss is being able to listen to stuff on youtube whilst driving (with a cover over the screen obviously ๐ )

Yup, I am a wimp ๐ I’m wondering about podcasts, which I tend to listen to while in the car. On the other hand, US radio has a lot more options, and I miss my local NPR (National Public Radio) station. I think I can, with confidence, classify this as a #firstworldproblem

lololol!!! I love the #firstworldproblem – that is indeed very true.
Podcasts would be good, and I love audiobooks. I’m not a big fan of music radio but more ‘talk’ radio options would be good.

Yes, podcasts are new territory for me, nothing like adopting new tech! I have to be dragged kicking and screaming to each new thing ๐
