Hmmm. Fell in love with that brickwork, but there is something rather eerie about this photo of yours Amy. I wouldn’t want to walk through that gate when the sun wasn’t out.
Yes, you’ve stumbled onto something here, it did have just a bit of an odd feeling to it. There was almost no one there, but lots of evidence that people were around (for example a lot of candles lit in the chapel) which was just enough to make me pay attention and look around a bit.
Your photo has captured that feeling so well through the use of light and shadow and the composition! I’ve returned to this shot repeatedly as it has sparked some story ideas. Thank you.
The light perfectly makes the bishop stand out from the building behind. I really like the opening into the back of the gate. Gives room for interpretations and imaginations.
It is an interesting spot, in part because it’s really quiet in the midst of an otherwise busy neighbourhood. Spaces like that are always intriguing to me.
That’s Great – I like the composition, the archway looks very inviting.

Wasn’t sure if I’d left a comment on this photo before, but I love the ambience of eerie tranquility in this shot.

Yes, you did. It was a case of me being really slow on the follow-up for comments! 🙂
