Daily Photo Weekly Wrap-Up: Week 68

I was happy to be able to wander this week. I was also happy that two of my images worked well in monochrome, that’s a style I don’t work in as much, so I’m always pleased when I have a nice result:

Welcome to this week’s installment of my daily photographic record. Posts in this series will be photos from the week before, roughly Friday through Friday. This, once a week, wrap-up post will publish on Sunday. The photos for this post will be in a gallery format, they will have all been taken on my phone. The captions on the photos will be an indication of the photo-editing software used to edit them, or simply “as-shot” for those that are unedited.

Writing a weekly wrap up with a gallery is a way for me to gather my thoughts on what has caught my attention in the previous week. It will be a way of filtering through what I am thinking about photographically. I’ll also be able to come back to these posts and look at what trends emerge over time.

As with all my posts, your comments are welcome. I appreciate your interaction with my work here on this blog. It is my intention to publish in this series on Sunday. Every Sunday that is possible. Looking at my year, I already know there are some weeks where I will not be close enough to my technology to make a post possible. In an effort to keep this project pleasant for myself, I won’t be attempting catch-up posts.

Hope to see you in the comments below and in this space next week!

Cheers!

  1. I think the monochrome works for the two photos. The church is suitably old and suits it and the clouds are emphasized in the country scene. I don’t use is much either but oddly enough i just did one today for the lens artists challenge. It just seemed to work.

Hi Amy, I’ve just emerged from slogging away on my final, big essay for this year and am trying to catch up. Glad we can all wander a bit more now, but I’ll be glad when things are properly back to normal and we can put this terrible episode behind us. Fantastic photos, as always. I love the monochrome ones – especially that church, it looks really dramatic in black and white. 🙂

Hope all’s well with you. Essay writing has been a real nightmare this year since all this chaos broke, having everyone at home (including an autistic 9 year old who has no concept that I’m trying to study!) and all the weirdness and 180 degree change in lifestyle to cope with. Have to say, I’m glad it’s over for this academic year now, so goodness knows what the results will be. Still, you can only do your best under the strangest, most unsettling times ever. Thanks for asking, anyway. How’s the move going? Any progression yet?

      • I agree that you can only do your best. I feel like each of us has had our own challenges during this time, so it looks a bit different for each person, but overall it has just been both strange and hard. We are doing ok, but it is a weird time to be moving, that is for sure!
We made it back to the US last week, so now quarantining, we have about a week left of that. After that we will be in full set-up mode, getting the house ready for our household goods which we are expecting to turn up in August.
I suspect I will be in light blogging mode until about September.
