A Garden Maze

After a recent visit to Chatsworth House I brought home this image:

ISO 800 22mm f/20 1/80sec

From that I made this:

ISO 800 22mm f/20 1/80sec

I started with the crop. The original file was shot with a wide angle lens with the intent of taking in as much of the scene as possible. For the image I was creating, I wanted to leave the large trees as a frame for the maze but lose some of the foreground which I thought wasn’t necessary. I then pulled the yellow, brown, orange, blue, and purple tones out of the image. I then used a graduated filter in the sky of the image and added some blue tones back into that area only.

The result, I hope, is an image just slightly removed from reality, but not so far removed that you couldn’t imagine being here. Do you think I succeeded? Feel free to leave a comment below.

Cheers!
