Daily Record Weekly Photo Wrap-Up: Week 57

This week I’m super grateful for all the wide-open spaces that I can walk to, that are close to my home.  Like last week, this week’s gallery has all been shot on my walk:

Welcome to this week’s instalment of my daily photographic record. Posts in this series will be photos from the week before, roughly Friday through Friday. This, once a week, wrap-up post will publish on Sunday. The photos for this post will be in a gallery format, they will have all been taken on my phone. The captions on the photos will be an indication of the photo-editing software used to edit them, or simply “as-shot” for those that are unedited.

Writing a weekly wrap up with a gallery is a way for me to gather my thoughts on what has caught my attention in the previous week. It will be a way of filtering through what I am thinking about photographically. I’ll also be able to come back to these posts and look at what trends emerge over time.

As with all my posts, your comments are welcome. I appreciate your interaction with my work here on this blog. It is my intention to publish in this series on Sunday. Every Sunday that is possible. Looking at my year, I already know there are some weeks where I will not be close enough to my technology to make a post possible. In an effort to keep this project pleasant for myself, I won’t be attempting catch-up posts.

Hope to see you in the comments below and in this space next week!

Cheers!

Daily Record Weekly Photo Wrap-Up: Week 55

Like everyone else, I am having a strange week. Although our individual details are different, I think we are all together in trying to figure out what our coming weeks are going to look like. I really like my little space here on this blog, so I will be attempting to spend some time here. For this series this past week, my photos are all shot using the randomise feature in Hipstamatic:

Weather. This whole week has been about windy and snowy weather. The brutal side of Spring:

Daily Photo Weekly Wrap-Up: Week 51

It was a quiet week on the blog this past week because I was in Budapest. Most of the photos in the gallery are as-shot and a bit of an outline of what I was seeing. The edits will all come later. This week was a week of things I had never seen before, an interesting week for me:

Daily Photo Weekly Wrap-Up: Week 50

A week of crazy unsettled weather, beautiful but scary at times. Most of the photos I took this week were long exposure shots as I wrote about in my last post. The dramatic weather making for some interesting shots. I was happy to be able to get out and take photos, but I did time my trips based on when it seemed safest:

Daily Photo Weekly Wrap-Up: Week 49

This week felt like the start of Spring here, regardless of what the calendar might say about it. The first daffodils are up and snowdrops are everywhere. It’s also been a week of cold foggy mornings often followed by a brilliant burst of afternoon light, as if the world is trying to decide if it should wake up or not:

Daily Photo Weekly Wrap-Up: Week 46

Several days this week were really rainy, windy, just kind of miserable. The kind of light and shadows that this sort of weather can bring sometimes is pretty fabulous though:

Daily Photo Weekly Wrap-Up: Week 45

This week was a bit different. I didn’t get a lot of shots but what I did get, I liked. It was an interesting experience, but odd, I usually take many more shots than I did this week:

Daily Photo Weekly Wrap-Up: Week 44

Because I was thinking about the January Squares challenge a lot this past week, I guess it is no surprise that most of my photos were processed in Hipstamatic and feature light as an important element. None of these has yet been featured in that challenge, but one or two might before the end of the month:

Daily Photo Weekly Wrap-Up: Week 43

I spent most of the last week in Poland. It was a short but packed trip. Before leaving I had set up folders on my desktop so that each day’s photos could be filed easier.  At the time of writing this post, I have edited very few. In keeping with that, I decided that the photos for this week’s wrap-up will all be “as-shot”. They were all taken with my iPhone with no further editing. This reflects the trip’s status as taken but not yet fully processed:
