Travel Theme: New

The travel theme for this week at Where’s My backpack? is new.  I am posting my response a bit later in the week than I normally do because I was waiting for this photograph to occur:

ISO 100 50mm -0.67ev f/7.1 1/80

ISO 100 50mm -0.67ev f/7.1 1/80

There are a lot of things that qualify as new, but I think a new snowfall is quite beautiful.

Cheers!

Travel Theme: Mystical

When I saw that mystical was the theme this week at Where’s my backpack?, I knew what I was going to be blogging about right away.  I have borrowed an infrared filter for the week, so here is a photo I took in the morning at about 8 am:

ISO 500 50mm 0ev f/10 87sec.

I put two others on flickr, so you can pop over and check them out if you like.

Cheers!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Wrong

WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge decided to go “wrong” this week.

I thought the St. Louis Blues might win the Stanley Cup, but I was wrong:

The city got all decked out in support of the team this spring though, that was nice to see.  Here is a flag flying outside the art museum.

Also wrong, trying to take this picture in the middle of the day with my iPhone.  That breaks a few “photography rules”

Cheers!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Dreaming

The theme of the weekly photo challenge is dreaming.  Where I am I think we are all dreaming of cooler weather, so here is one from this past winter:

ISO 800 135mm f/5.6 1/10

Cheers!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Fleeting Moment

The wordpress photo challenge for the week is “fleeting moment” more specifically a fleeting moment on the street in honor of street photography.  So, here is mine:

ISO 100 35mm F/4 1/80

I realize that this photo does not really fit in with the “street art” idea of the post challenge but here is my rationalization/justification.  I was only in Quebec City for a few days on this trip.  That’s fleeting right?

All my Canadian readers will recognize this as a store front for Beaver Tails.  That is a warm pastry with cinnamon sugar on it and then there are many other topping variations that can be added.  Yummy, but it is  A LOT of sugar!

Cheers!
