Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

Foreign, that is the topic for this week’s photo challenge from WordPress.  It should be an interesting bunch of posts to sort through because it is pretty open to interpretation.  Here is the photo I picked:

ISO 200 f/4.1 1/500 0ev 17.5mm

Surely recognizable, but perhaps you have never seen it quite at this stage of life? Maybe you have.  Either way I find the transformation fascinating.

Award Winning Frog

This photo got an honorable mention in competition in at my camera club. Yippee!:

ISO 500 135mm f/10 1/50

The grumpy old men (as I call them) who often sit behind me at club meetings, grumbled that this photo was just good because I had a really big lens.  Actually, I do wish I had a really big lens, and I may own one in the future, but this was taken with a 28-135mm kit lens.  I was just lucky enough to sneak up on this frog without it hopping off.

This is a handheld shot.  In Aperture I boosted the greens a bit, cropped and sharpened the image.

This image is also available for purchase on my website.

Happy Accident

I was at the park and got this shot with my iPhone:

ISO 64 4mm f/2.8 1/1193

I was really pleased with the way it turned out.  I have cropped it, darkened the right corner, and sharpened it in Aperture.  It was taken at noon, which I know is against the photography rules, but it was a cloudy day, which kept the lighting from being too bright.
