For this week the topic is Black and White. I started with this scene:

I liked this as a color image but thought it might make a nice black and white as well. The edits are done in Luminar. In addition to the black and white filter, I’ve also added the Orton effect, matte look, and a vignette. The edited version is this:

I think the Orton Effect works well here and adds to the “brushed” feeling of the B&B image. There is a good balance between the light and dark areas of the image. My B&W images tend to have a bit too much contrast.

Yes, I sometimes refer to mine as being too crispy. Black and white doesn’t come naturally to me, so it was nice to have this as a challenge topic.

As much as I like color a picture in black and white has a very special appeal to me. I have always loved these type of pictures. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
